Unity and Louisiana Economic Development Team Up to Train Educators in Real-time
3D Boosting Real-time 3D Education for Tomorrow’s Tech Economy

Understanding Real-time 3D (RT3D)
In a world that’s increasingly driven by technology, real-time 3D (RT3D) stands out as a powerful tool. With RT3D software, creators can instantly render interactive 3D models, captivating environments, and immersive virtual worlds. Unlike traditional content-creation platforms, RT3D offers users an enriched experience by displaying content that reacts in real-time. This technology can be showcased on various platforms ranging from mobile devices and computers to augmented and virtual reality devices.
Unity and Louisiana Join Forces
Recognizing the potential of RT3D and the demand for professionals skilled in this area, Unity, a leader in 3D content creation tools, partnered with Louisiana Economic Development (LED) in a groundbreaking initiative. Launched last spring, this collaborative venture aims to improve and expand RT3D education in Louisiana.
Now in its second year, this five-year project, bolstered by a generous $1.95 million grant from LED, envisions a self-sustaining local ecosystem. This ecosystem will consist of certified instructors proficient in RT3D who can pass on their knowledge to students at their institutions. Not just restricted to obtaining Unity certifications, these educators also benefit from a plethora of educational resources, ranging from training modules to classroom content.
Monty Sullivan, President of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System, underlined the significance of this program.
He noted:
“The rapidly evolving tech landscape necessitates continuous up-skilling. This collaboration with LED and Unity presents an invaluable workforce development opportunity. Ensuring our educators are equipped to train students in RT3D is pivotal for the success of our students and, by extension, the state.”
– Monty Sullivan, President of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System
The Path to Unity Certification
Unity offers a structured certification program with four distinct levels. These certifications cater to individuals eager to hone their skills, venture into the job market, or impart education. The current partnership between Unity and LED prioritizes two of these levels – Associate and Professional. Through a combination of tailored training sessions and hands-on experiences, educators across Louisiana are working towards achieving these certifications.
Future Prospects
The Unity-LED partnership is a testament to the potential benefits of public-private collaborations. By focusing on vital skills like RT3D, such initiatives can play a pivotal role in strengthening the foundation of a region’s economy.
