H ey there, Fortnite fans! Are you ready to make the most of your summer and showcase your creative skills? Fortnite Creative has just announced the Summer Showdown Callout, and it’s time to put your game design prowess to the test. Create the ultimate team-based combat island, and you might just see your masterpiece featured in a special Discover row in July!

What is Fortnite Looking For?

Here’s what Fortnite Creative is looking for in your island design:

1. Team up!
   Focus on combat-oriented experiences inspired by classic game modes like Domination, Capture the Flag, Zone Wars, and more.
2. Go big on competition.
   Design games that you and your buddies would love to play over and over for those all-important bragging rights.
3. Think outside the box.
   Blow our minds with innovative twists, like moving capture points or high-flying capture zones.
4. Shake up the elimination game.
   Get creative with how players are eliminated or how they can help their team even after they’re out.
5. Set the scene with stunning environments.
   Use your island’s backdrop to enhance the gameplay, whether it’s a volcanic Deathmatch or a space-based Search & Destroy.
6. Nail that level design.
   Follow the “Level Design Best Practices” document to create an engaging and balanced play experience.

A Few Guidelines to Keep in Mind

Keep these guidelines in mind when submitting your island:

• One island per creator, please.
• Make sure your island hits all the marks in the design guidelines.
• Already have a killer island? No problem! Existing islands are welcome.
• Ensure your island is polished and functional, with well-implemented devices and boundaries.
• Stay ahead of the curve by using innovative and new devices.
• Don’t forget to include a video overview showing a fly-through of your island and a round of gameplay.
• Bonus points for a captivating promotional trailer (although not required).

Submit Your Fortnite Creative Game

Ready to submit your game? The Summer Showdown Callout submission window opens on May 8, 2023, at 10 AM ET. Use the Creative Content submission form and select the “Summer Showdown Callout” option. Get your submission in by 4 PM ET on June 9, 2023.
