Starting November 13, creators will have the unique opportunity to build Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT)-themed islands!
The world of Fortnite Creative UEFN is about to get a radical twist! Starting November 13, creators will have the unique opportunity to build Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT)-themed islands, bringing iconic characters and assets straight from the sewers of New York to life. Epic Games has partnered with Paramount to deliver an immersive experience with a wide range of TMNT tools and templates for creators to play with.
What’s New in UEFN for TMNT Creators?
Epic Games is giving creators everything they need to build their own TMNT adventures in UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite). TMNT templates, weapons, devices, Prefabs, Galleries, and bad guy NPCs are available for you to use. Whether you envision a classic arcade-style brawl or an immersive rooftop battle in the heart of New York City, the creative possibilities are endless.
From surfing the sewers and delivering pizzas downtown to fighting off baddies on skyscraper rooftops, the TMNT collaboration is set to elevate Fortnite’s creative potential. With TMNT assets ready to go, how will you build your perfect turtle-inspired world?
How to Join the TMNT Island Craze in Fortnite UEFN
To create and publish your TMNT island, there are a few things you’ll need to do. First, you must be part of the IP Partnership Program. This program ensures that creators respect the intellectual property (IP) rights associated with TMNT. Creators also need to agree to Epic’s Creator Terms, which include sharing 15% of engagement payouts for TMNT islands with Paramount.
If you’ve previously signed the agreement to publish LEGO® islands, you’re already set! Otherwise, simply opt-in through the Creator Portal to get started with TMNT islands. Be sure your creations comply with TMNT Brand and Creator rules to avoid any penalties or content removal.
TMNT Brand Rules: What You Need to Know
To make sure your TMNT-themed island stays within the rules, it’s important to follow the specific TMNT Brand Rules provided by Epic Games and Paramount. Here’s a quick breakdown:
- Use Only Provided TMNT Assets: You can only use the TMNT characters and assets given to you by UEFN. Importing external assets or characters into your TMNT island is strictly prohibited.
- No Selling or Redistributing TMNT Assets: Creators cannot sell, license, or redistribute any TMNT assets. This includes listing TMNT assets on asset databases or marketplaces.
- Keep it Fun and Lighthearted: While creating your TMNT island, avoid promoting products, services, or causes. Keep politics and religion out of your creation to ensure your island remains focused on fun.
- Respect Intellectual Property Rules: You may not use IP from other major franchises (movies, TV shows, etc.), even if you own the rights. Also, avoid using restricted TMNT trademarks like “Nickelodeon” or specific titles from TMNT media.
- Don’t Use Trademarks Incorrectly: While you can use the TMNT name, avoid using logos or making it seem like Paramount or Nickelodeon endorses your island. This includes keeping restricted names like “Shredder’s Revenge” or “Turtles in Time” out of your island titles and descriptions.
Failing to follow these rules can result in penalties, including the removal of your content or the loss of access to TMNT assets in Fortnite UEFN. For creators, understanding these guidelines is crucial to successfully publishing TMNT-themed islands.
